About the role

An established organisation is seeking a
qualified Commercial Finance Controller to support commercial performance and informed decision making across the business. Working closely with senior operational and commercial leaders, you will provide forward-looking financial insight, maintain strong financial control, and help improve margins and profitability. This position is offered as a nine-month fixed term contract.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior operational and commercial stakeholders to support performance improvement and decision making.
  • Deliver forward-looking financial analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Support pricing, cost management, and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor performance against budget and forecast, clearly explaining drivers and variances.
  • Take ownership of profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheet reporting, ensuring accuracy and control.
  • Lead month-end processes and deliver timely, accurate management accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial reporting, tools, and processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant status such as CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in commercial finance, finance business partnering, or financial controlling.
  • Strong experience managing profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheet reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide commercial insight and constructive challenge to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Solid knowledge of financial reporting standards and governance.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with enterprise resource planning systems; data visualisation tools are desirable.
  • Experience working within a structured, matrix environment.
