Job Overview
We are looking for a Quality Technician to join a growing manufacturing business and play a key role in maintaining high standards across production. This is a hands-on role, working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Warehouse and Supply Chain teams to ensure products consistently meet quality requirements. You will be involved in inspections, investigating quality issues, identifying root causes, and supporting continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned, first-off, in-process and final inspections across manufacturing operations.
- Inspect incoming materials and components to ensure they meet required quality standards.
- Conduct regular factory inspections to identify and prevent potential quality issues.
- Use inspection equipment including verniers, micrometres, gauges, and visual inspection techniques.
- Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and support corrective and preventative actions.
- Work with manufacturing teams to reduce defects, improve consistency, and support continuous improvement.
- Investigate customer and supplier quality issues and support effective resolutions.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation using the company’s ERP system.
- Support new product introductions, internal audits, and compliance with ISO 9001 procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Warehouse, and other teams to promote quality and right-first time working.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, production, assembly, maintenance, warehousing or another process-driven environment.
- Practical, methodical and organised, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.
- Comfortable following processes, procedures and defined quality standards.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work effectively across different teams.
- Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office; ERP experience and familiarity with inspection equipment would be advantageous.
- A willingness to learn and develop, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the potential to grow into the role.
